Over the years, I have used many variations of straps and locking setups. Before the present strap lock options there was duct tape and I remember Dimarzio coming up with a quick connect setup where the strap was joined to two "tails" screwed into the body.
I tried Schaller and Dunlop products and finally landed on staying with Dunlop. When it came to ease of use and natural "push" action, Dunlop was the winner. I also have alternate experience with similar mechanisms in other latching needs and it appears the general concept of using outward pressure on ball bearings is well accepted and a solid connecting mechanism where rotation and movement are encountered.
