La Bella Deep Talkin' Flatwound Standard Gauge 4-String Set is the most popular of the La Bella flatwound gauges.  This set has a more traditional feel with just the right amount of tension.  Most bass players will find these strings a little more rigid compared to most round wound bass strings of the same gauges.  This set is the set to choose for that Deep Talkin' Flat Wound Sound!

These Stainless Steel flats are hand polished to a finish that is fast, soft, and silky smooth.  La Bella Deep Talknin' Flat Wound bass strings are great for the most professional bassists as well as beginners and any level in between.  The best part about these strings they will last a very long time!

New Tone, Great feel
I was using GHS Brite Flats on a Gibson SG, and after reading and shopping around, I ordered a set of the "deep talkin'" flats for my bass. If you are looking for tone, look no further. These has a deep, rich tone that I was unaware this little bass had. Smooth as silk, and great on your fingers. They are a little "stiffer" than flats I have used before (not more noticeable tension) but stiffer. I was able to lower the strings to make it even easier without string slap. I highly recommend these strings. Mark

Light flats, silky, deep, lovely!
My second use of the La Bella Deep Talkin' flats - this time on a vintage Tokai Jazz Sound fretless from the 1980s. I was (and still am) out of neck relief on this authentic-sounding vintage Jazz fretless replica. So I thought I'd try the lightest available flats. While they haven't delivered in any appreciable way (I had hoped for a noticeable reduction in tension versus medium gauge roundwounds), they have delivered real improvements in playability and depth. So happy with the purchase!!

The sound I've been looking for
Great strings, comfortable to play with a deep smooth sound - lots of fundamental, but very good definition and clarity at the same time. They match my 50-yr old P-Bass perfectly.

Mr.
I ordered these along with a set of TI Flats. At first I liked them. Especially the feel, but over time I've come to prefer the TIs. These sound very muddy to me.
